The only thing we splurge on is a modest family Holliday per year. My wife and I still work because 40 is too young to be retired. 14. With powerball, there is no mathmatical formula to crack. Joan Ginther or whatever her name was obviously had to have played games with a mathmatical formula to winning. I've talked to two different people involved in the company who produce gaming and provide the materials needed for the Texas drawings using tumblers and balls and they both said it's impossible to beat the tumblers without the operator being involved in the scheme.
    
    She played scratch offs and figured out the formula, or she cheated. Otherwise it was blind luck.
15. I would think that even if you don't have a shrewd business mind, 2 things should make a lot of common sense with lottery winnings -- real estate investment and living below your means. The 2nd point is especially important for those without a lot of business savvy.
