3. I'm from South Africa but i never really understood the significance of a stronger or weaker currency. Growing up, the South African rand was equal to about 110 Japanese YEN, it's only recently that 1 Rand gives you about 8 Japanese YEN (i don't know what changed). But my point is Japan has always been a wealthy nation even with a relatively weaker currency, so what is the significance of a stronger currently?
