Warren Buffett owns Berkshire Hathaway, and within the portfolio of the assets that company owns are insurance companies, utilities, energy companies, railroads, retail stores, finance companies and manufacturing companies. Berkshire Hathaway has holdings in Duracell, GEICO and Wells Fargo. 2. Trust your gut. Buffett always invests in companies he trusts. He considers factors such as reputation of the company, public behavior, accountability of management as well as how the company treats executives, employees, communities and the environment. Ethics matter to Warren Buffett. 3. Ignore the news headlines. Buffett says that no long-term good can come of reacting to today’s economic news.
