4. If I have $1,000 in my account and I enter a single position with contract size of $100,000 using the default leverage of 1:100 then shouldn't I look at the PIPs only rather than % moves i.e. if the market moves up by 1 pip - I will gain 10$ and vice-versa

I don't think you can change the leverage levels on the demo however for live accounts simply click on the My FXCM button in the platform and there is a place for you to do it there. If that does not work for you click the chat button and they will point you in the right direction. Best Regards, Dave
