  1. Can you make reviews of brickx? Thnx
  2. Like your video, I have acorn before I see you video, can I ask? If I have $1000 in acorn how much the interest or return in a month or year? Thnx
  3. This is an obvious attempt to make Acorns look bad because you are a competitor. Cost? $1 /mo or .25% for accounts more than $5K. Be careful if you set it and forget it? Uhh, setting it and forgetting it is kinda the point. Be careful if you close your bank account some day? You have to update all SORTS of things when you change bank accounts. Should I pay my electric bill with cash just in case I close my bank account some day? This video seems pretty ridiculous. It just seems like you're trying to scare people out of using it with no real substance to your reasoning.
  4. Great video on investing! Love this.
  5. costs arent hidden, they tell you multiple times to read the pds and you have to tell them youve read it before you can invest, so if youre stupid enough to not read it it's your own fault. plus .25%pa isnt bad when a typical mutual fund is 2-3% every year
  6. acorns is more like a Roth ira..long term. Robinhood is for everyday trade, if you have more than 25 k... completely different approaches.....
  7. 12.50 a year. not bad...
  8. have you used the Stash invest app?
  9. I'm 3 months into Acorns investing. I've invested a total of about $130 with my change plus an initial investment of $60. After the monthly fee and the poor performance of their stocks, I now have about $120. I was hoping to make a little money or even just be at even, but so far it's lost me money.
It's really difficult to find how to close my account, I still haven't figured that part out yet. This video is pretty accurate, i didn't even know that they charge that fee every month, which ends up being more than the dividends in my case until I looked at a performance review and saw it there. I'm contemplating leaving, and that's why I'm on here checking to see what other people that are not Acorns workers have to say about it.
  10. the app is $15 a year in aus?!?!?! Thats really not too bad too be honest considering its $20 per trade going straight onto the market.
  11. Haven't had any of these problems that this guy is talking about. To be honest, its doing better than my 203k and 401k
  12. C+, really? Dude, come on... yeah $12.50 a year for 5k. Huge money right? Is everything you absolutely 100% free or under $12.50 a year?
  13. The stuff you are saying makes next to no sense. Robinhood is a completely different platform - it is for trading stocks without commission, Acorns is for investing spare change into ETFs, not individual stocks. You're comparing apples to oranges.

The rest of your complaints aren't valid either. The costs are clearly stated, and in addition $1 a month or .25% of 5000 ($12.50 a YEAR) is next to nothing.

This is a great app for investing without needing to actively do anything. Spare change is invested into a diversified portfolio for almost no cost. How can you complain about that?
  14. The only thing that I can comment on is that they do let the user know upfront about the cost. It was located towards the end of the description and it's on their website.
  15. Yes 25% is a lot for accounts 5k or more, better off using an advisor, MF portfolio or better yet a Roth, American Funds and many other charge a flat rate fee of like 10-15 bucks a year, no matter if you have $100 bucks in it or $1m. Acorns is cool for the spear change, people need to remember that any of these gains are taxable if they withdraw, so yes it's good for small investments, after 5 k you may as well roll it over to a Roth, but again taxes will incur on gains
  16. I'm gonna have to disagree with some of the stuff you said...if you have any problems with Acorns just call the customer service # and you'll be on and off the phone within 10 minutes!
  17. They did transfer a small amount from my checking account without my knowledge; I call them back and cancel it.
  18. I've been using Acorns for a few weeks and I've had none of the "problems" you mention so perhaps this video is fairly old. I also disagree that they need to be more upfront about their costs. I understood their charges from day one and the only area I agree on is that .25% on accounts with $5K or more is high since you could go with Vanguard index funds for .18%. However suggesting that professionals who charge 1% and higher may get you more is wrong for the most part. We all know that most active investors cannot beat index funds over the long term. So, for accounts with less than $5K, I think one buck a month is pretty good. Also, most of your criticism seems to be over things that "might" happen. I also find the usability to be excellent--no problems whatsoever. All that said, I'm not sure why you are so critical of this company unless you are trying to steer some business to Angel Kings
  19. I only use it because there are no fees for students or people under 24. I didn't consider that I might change bank accounts at some point. Thanks for bringing that up. I figure I'll just mostly forget about it and check up on it every once in a while.
