Banned TED Talk: Nick Hanauer "Rich people don't create jobs"

Via Business Insider: "As the war over income inequality wages on, super-rich Seattle entrepreneur Nick Hanauer has been raising the hackles of his fellow 1-percenters, espousing the contrarian argument that rich people don't actually create jobs. The position is controversial — so much so that TED is refusing to post a talk that Hanauer gave on the subject. National Journal reports today that TED officials decided not to put Hanauer's March 1 speech up online after deeming his remarks "too politically controversial" for the site...".

  1. I almost don't want to Gulag this Capitalist.
  2. IDIOT ABOVE
  3. I feel like doing a TED talk on any ol' subject and then, when I go on stage, I'll simply repeat this one instead. If anything, this is a truth that needs to be spread, not banned.
  4. I'm more concerned with where tax money goes. you could tax the top 20% at 75% and it's useless because government programs will fail almost completely because of their nature because of the lack of competition.
  5. Job security only exist in monopolistic markets. The same laws that protect manufacturing and publishing monopolies also prohibit the vast majority of individuals from employing themselves. It forces us into job markets, which saturates job markets and depresses wages. It necessitates unions and over-bearing employer regulations. Anyone who can't find or keep a job ends up poor, which necessitates welfare and heavy spending on police, courts, and prisons. Legislators support monopolism despite the damage and injustice because it makes them rich and simplifies the extortion of income taxes.
  6. bunch of jealous poor people
  7. Fucking Marxist scum, get in the helicopter!
  8. From Californa of course. Taxation is theft, regardless of your monetary wealth
  9. He should study basic economics. reduce taxes -> increase income -> increase demand -> increase employment
  10. This isn't a radical new idea, this is basic economics. Whether you're Keynesian or an Austrian in your belief you still believe in the circle of life in economics.
  11. kikes
  12. I don't think the ban is due to political motivation, but his use of data. Because he uses data from only one country during one time his model is so susceptible to confounds as to invalidate it. He needs to fix this problem then represent his case.
  13. This guy is just another PHONY, Left-WIng Jew; a sophisticated apologist for Keynesianism, which is total B/S; if Keynesianism were true, then the Fed should just "add" $1,000,000 to every checking account in USA...And this PHONY, Left-Wing, Lying Jew knows this.
  14. The global elite don't like this message, therefore the global elite must have some control over TED -hence the Ban. Poor TED.
  15. Fairly obvious really. This is just Keynesianism. Basic economics.
  16. How? How Does taxing the Rich coralates with growing small buisnesses?
