3. It seems that most savings accounts only offer rates with a zero in front of the decimal (0.XX%), and we act like we won the lottery if we find a rate with a one in front of the decimal (1.XX%). So how can I find a savings account that has a rate higher than 1%? Why can't I find a rate that's 2.0% or higher? How long has this been going on and how long will this last? I've done a lot of online searching but can't find anything beyond 1.25% max.

6. I wish I had of started the online bank account before. I have the dream account. 1k deposits a month and act like it is your mortgage. 1.05% interest rate. I love it!!!!
7. I just opened two accounts at Barclays. The Online Savings account now has a solid 1.00% APY and their Dream Account has 1.05% APY.
8. Since GE Capital was taken over by Goldman Sachs they are offering 1.05% on online savings accounts with no minimum deposit and no fees.. 2.00% on a 5 year CD with only 500 minimum. It sounds a bit risky considering past history with Goldman Sachs but those interest rates they are offering are something to consider taking advantage of. I had a savings with GE Capital before Goldman Sachs took over, Im gonna stick to the Goldman Sachs savings and see how it plays out.

13. +zerofatzreturns I was looking into high yield savings accounts not too long ago and stumbled upon GE Capital Savings bank that has a 1.05% APY.
    
    I know the benefits of a high yield bank account. But what are the draw backs? Especially for online banks where they don't have public office buildings or anything of that nature? How safe are they really? Are these even questions you can answer? haha
    
    Also, are there any drawbacks to having multiple bank accounts?

15. You are correct. The Barclay's bank savings offer a 1.00 apy with no minimum deposit or to maintain. I actually signed up days ago after watching this very same video. Thanks man. Cheers from NYC!

17. Try Tangerine bank account. Savings account is %1.3. Use my Orange key and get a $50 bonus :) Best bank. Trust. I opened mine during a promotion time and they give me $10 every friday for 12 weeks. I live in Canada. 18. I invest in inventory.  If I spend $10 at a thrift store and turn it into $100-$200, there is no bank in this town that can give me that kind of interest. :)

I put my money back into my business, if you can't make 1% return on your money that is pretty sad.  Plus putting money into this amazing 0.9% rate you mention gives everyone a net loss of 0.6% because of the inflation rate of 1.5%...which normally is it higher as well, meaning any savings account is going to lose people a TON of cash.
