I often get sent betfair trading or betting systems to look at and analyse and a couple of weeks ago I got dragged kicking and screaming into a debate about a system that couldn't possibly work. I've got a great video linked up for you on a similar line in a few weeks. It's a cracker! However, in this video I try and explain why wasting money on systems doesn't make sense. Not only financially, but in the modern betting markets, there really is no sense in why you wouldn't use and scale a formulaic approach yourself.

4. Hmm bit generalist. I have bought training systems with strategies for football that have paid got themselves and worked. Not systems per se but proven techniques in different markets which work.
5. I have got hold of some arbitrage systems that do work. They don't make much money however they usually work on the premise of a subsidy or free bet given to make it all work. The issue that I have is that I usually get flagged by the bookmakers site and I get closed out on the offer, however I have found it ok while it was going. Its not much money however it did add up.
6. @betangel I've studied a lot of your videos and something you have talked about often is eliminating mistakes. What are the biggest mistakes you had to eliminate from your trading? (referring only to horse race markets)
7. While on the subject of 'Systems' what are your views on Pundits? I mean, all these 'experts' putting forward reasons for horse 'X' to win - then others putting forward counter-arguments - and horse 'X' proving to be a real donkey!
8. I'll hold up my hand and say that I have - in the past - bought a few 'systems'. I've never known one to make any real money and I have to agree with you that if one has found the Golden Goose, one is unlikely to tell ANYONE about it - human nature being what it is! As a 'newbie' I think my major problem is the 'ah but' syndrome. In other words, I KNOW I shouldn't go in play; 'ah but' if I do, I can make a killing when (IF!!!!) that horse steams in in running........Similarly, I know I can make some serious dosh IF that horse drifts.........No, NO! Don't go and win you rank outsider!!!!!
