Building a better Waterloo – the facts

London Waterloo is the UK’s busiest railway station and the main station for one of the busiest railways in the UK. The number of passenger journeys has more than doubled in the last 20 years to 234 million per year, and further growth of 40% by 2043 is forecast. This is the biggest investment for decades and will deliver a 30% increase in peak time capacity by 2019. 1. increased tickets prices to come too! Good riddence southwest trains lets hope FirstMTR can do a better job. main issue is overcrowding and total meltdown when rain/leaves falls/snow. poorly executed emergency planning. i chose to not work in london any more due to rail overcrowding and spending £5k a year to have my face squashed against a door or fellow passengers armpit.
  2. they need to allow more time because they only give you like a minute to get on #getmoretime
  3. Soon to be used by London Overground
  4. Great job. Its a real challenge.
  5. This person sounds like Emma Clarke
  6. SWT Waterloo. Just make sure the Ex Euro star is State of Art facilities and Ultra Modern Design. NOT facilities in a state, like it is Now 2016 (I saw it in Feb, that entrance bridge is a mess, all those vending machines are so tacky). Use the Ground floor as an Exit out and into waterloo Tube, 1st floor as Ultra Modern Entrance bridge to 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 platforms. Bring back that CLOCK and make it ROLEX. Waterloo station is Iconic the world over, its Central London. When people walk into that station they want to say WOW its beautiful, at the moment all they say is Train Shed (just ask them).
  7. I have just watched a video, which jad disabled comments, this video was all about computer signals, what a wonderful program i have just watched. thank you for making that knowledge available.
  8. 10 car? Why not go the whole hog to 12 or 16 car trains? It is probably required
  9. wow ,amazing
  10. Basically this is a scheme to put the station platforming (except the cab road) as it was 30+ years ago. I beleve platforms 1 to 4 were shortened in the 60/70's and of course the Windsor line platforms were removed for the Eurostar terminal. Funnyold world. Are you bringing back the Windsor Tearoom?
  11. It is great that the International station is going to be used fully again.  I see you have a ramp going to platforms 20 - 24 but what is the concourse that is underneath the ramp and platforms going to be used for?  Will there be direct access to the platforms from underneath or will passengers need to go upstairs to the main concourse and along the ramp to the International platforms? Thanks
  12. May I ask what is the music?
  13. brilliant move forward! What about woking station? It needs to be rebuilt as it is 80 plus years old!
  14. Brilliant initiative - great for businesses in the South!
  15. Not bad... Not bad at all, NR - Though the traditionalist in me would like to ask what provision, if any, might be made for steam hauled services?
  16. Fantastic
  17. 'Funded by UK government'? Surely you mean UK taxpayers? Either way its long overdue at Waterloo - can't wait to see the finished station in late 2018.
  18. I'm in love with the idea of bringing back the Eurostar Waterloo Platforms. Good on you!
