  1. Rolex for sure anywhere and in any situation you can still pawn or sell your watch
  2. Honestly unless you have a rare rolex (tropical, spider, tiffany&co), the value will drop over time. A $7500 Datejust is now $2500 in great condition. Subs are the same. Don't buy a new Rolex as an investment.
  3. I agree with omega
  4. I don't buy quality watches to lock them up in a vault
  5. Buy what you like and can afford !
  6. Investment? Really? And you put it like that on Bloomberg?
  7. I laugh and call bullshit. If you are 20 and buy today 20 recommended here watches in 20 years maybe 1-2 gain in value unless it is PP certain references. Mind you it is 30- 50+k minimum watch to begin with. For the rest of that crapfest like Breitling Navitimer there is no chance in hell you'll see anything close to original retail on secondary market anytime soon or ever. Within next 5 years a lot of those overpriced junk cans go out of business. Portfolio my ass.
  8. Breitling is tanking. Omega are good watches but hardly top 4 for investment. I'd say, for investment purposes only - Patek, Rolex, Audemars, and Vacheron. Honorable mentions for Lange and Breguet.
  9. I really enjoy my Ulysse Nardin San Marco watch.
  10. Patek is an old mans watch. Rolex all the way.
  11. LAWNGUYLAND
  12. I wish Tudor would gain value
  13. Supply and demand comes into it... Rolex has huge supply but even bigger demand.... everybody knows the brand so it is a safe bet.  Patek is known as the best watch in the world amongst those with big money, so is largely unaffected by trends... that's a safe bet too...  But Breitling?  Maybe that particular model, and I am not knocking the brand but really not a rare watch or one that I would expect to make a killing on.   JLC, is an exceptional watch brand with a huge history so maybe.... but surely Rolex and Cartier both have huge names if you buy the right model and the holy trinity of Patek, Vacheron and Audermars are the greatest quality brands.   The trick is buying right... if you can get them for what they are worth (rather than paying a retail price) then your onto a good bet.  Fashions change though... I wonder if the small watches that are cheap now will come back, or whether those huge oversized things will drop like a stone?  I would stick in the middle just in case.
