  2. Medieval hyperinflation :D. Unfortunately the series drops the ball here.It is sad.
    .If it was areal world people who have mine and goldsmiths mint coin independently from Iron Throne and also Iron Throne will continually mint coins as available gold in the market increases.
    ..The dept in medieval period and 18th century on are different.The Throne can just mint more and pay it without major consequences in medium term so it can spend more keep Status Que. Especially if the dept owed to a different country.
    ...There may be huge trade deficit with Essos which is getting larger and draws gold out of the Westeros than it can replace the loss.
    ....But I do not know this would create a anywhere remotely have large affect as dept problem in the books.
    .....My nitpick : How hell they know about inflation???How? If Robert were real he would mint coin for each expanse he had.
