1. Its that easy. China could pull the plug and release a flood of dollars onto the global market but they are not as crazy as the FED. They are doing it a little at a time because they do not want to destablize the global system, which they are a part of you know...what is the FED doing...print, print, print until doomsday.
2. As long as oil is bought only in US Dollar, American hegemony is in place. US can just print a paper dollar and "alakazam"! they own a dollar worth of oil! In that way US owns all oil in the entire world!

10. most people living in my region of Southeast Asia don't trust their governments, and therefore the most reliable safe haven currencies they hold are the U.S. dollar and the Singapore dollar.
    
    i know a person from Malaysia who holds most of his cash savings in the U.S. currency instead of the Malaysia ringgit.
