flasking a denture

Comments

  1. He says the teeth and wax can't be covered. Yet he gets plaster all over it. It's not difficult to keep the job clean. If you go scrubbing it off with a brush it can leave shitty lines in the wax.
Why would you use vaseline as a separator? It's horrible stuff. That's what cold mould seal is for.
Bang the job that hard you'll move the teeth. Topping in white is too soft. Under pressure the teeth can rise into the plaster. This video is how not to flask.
  2. I SPOTTED A FEW UNDERCUTS WITH THE PLASTER. YIKESSS. NO WONDER WE NEVER SAW THE AFTER.(VIDE0) HE PROBABLY HAD A HECK OF A TIME AFTER BOIL OUT.!!! HENCE (NOT SEPERATING WITH OUT BREAKING!!!!)
  3. man our job is not about breaking world records in how fast we can do our job..its about precision and every step if is done precise it saves us a time / trouble/fixing in next our step..
(gips is name what i /we use in my country for what u calling plaster but u used different word for yellow gips "one of the model with waxed denture")

first of u messed with mixing white powder (gips) (plaster) ..there's is an rule how u mix plaster with water(and thats was a frist thing what i and rest of us learning in dental schools/Collages or UNI) :
u put first desired amount of water then u put plaster(gips) in it until there's no water left and gips who aint wet (this assures us to achieve desired/proper hardens and consistency)
(im not sure whats correct name in English but lets put it this way ( white powder is Class 2 hardness / Blue is (usually) class 3 / yellow which u used is class 4(sometimes its class 5) (class 5-6 are usually green and and white(elephant bone color)..
for work what u doing u need class 2(white) and class3 ( Blue) because if u put class 4 (if is class 4 that one of yours) u after gonna have(u can have) hard time of removing it (u can break acrylic denture in processes)

second "Vaseline or any other isolation substance yes it shall not go over acrylic teeth but reason is because it will after drop from counter model(during washing if it does not have mechanical retention) and when u pressing acrylic that tooth can move from its position and u will end up with a problem).. .. a isolator making a distance between tooth and (plaster on opposite side is irrelevant and unmeasurable) (and if u isolate for acrylic after like u did in this video u better then make "retentions with small size borer on acrylic tooth's to asure they will not fail of the acrylic(because bad isolation)
second before mounting "other half" of mufe(dish soap )i believe is English) u shall remove all (gips white powder/plaster from borders of it to ensure proper closing)
third i couldn't see(lower ress video) but i believe this partial denture had "metallic hocks" ..its absolutly wrong to remove those (gyps) tooth's with micro-motor like u did .. (u might used a "freaze" (borer) for metal or acrylic or even for gyps it does not matter) because first of u can damage metallic hooks which latter on can be reason why they are broken (when patient uses them).. or they can break during adaptation (when dentist adapts them correctly in mouth if necessary)..second u easily can move them from their original position and they after might lose their proper function as(retention)...(so safe and proper way is to do it with a sharp dental knife or scalper .. and in end if u want u can use micro-motor
and in end u need to "vibrate it"(by using a Vibrator or atlest put some silicon under on that desk (to "soften hits") not to bang it with all strength u have (i wont mention reasons ...)

so again.. our profession is not about speed its about precision and reliability(and in end this is what gives us good reputation as dental technicians)..
if dentist after have problems with patients which Crowns/bridges or dentures etc are broken u gonna slowly but certainly start losing your job ..
and a rule which i follow as a DT and all ppl who work in my dental laboratories is " i will not give a dental work to a dentist/patient if i alone would not want to have that "product" in my mouth"
  4. muchacho derrrrrrr diablo, donde tu estudiaste...... tienes que ir a que te regresen el dinero que pagastes en la escuela de mecanica dental.......
  5. Please, anyone can write the 2 first minuts for me ?
i need help because i don't understand it
  6. Topping in white can cause raised bites. Its too soft. 50/50 is better
  7. The comments shows how dental techs are such bad critics. There are a million ways to do things. Just because its messy "lab" doesn't necessary mean that, that is his lab. I hope some techs try go on a retreat in a 3rd world country and help underprivileged people and try to do what they do everyday in such environment. Some people are just so pampered. Just be thankful for what you got man. Btw keep up the good work.
  8. vaseline? conditioner? :)
  9. Makes me appreciate the quality and cleanliness of my lab. 1. If youre investing the working model, you CANNOT grind off teeth. You need them to calibrate the case after being processed. 2. Your flask was extremely messy with plaster on the rim. You need the flask to shut as much as possible, so clean off the rim before shutting. 3. Several methods to prep a flask, Our lab does a different method BUT, what ever method you chose, why not prep the flasks before you start investing your work.
  10. Незагибсовал,а если по русски-"насрал"
  11. mesy
  12. the water? care the water.... are you mad? bad work, so bad...
  13. you`re doing it wrong bro ! If you are doing what you see in this video, you will fail hard
  14. what about vibration, or mixing with grams and mililites?
  15. Thanks a lot =D !!!! this is so amazing. It helped me in my Dental Materials Flasking Practical :)
  16. thanx! it's a good thing that you can work it out with the surrounding you are in, believe me i've seen much worst. some people can't think outside the box when seeing the place you're working in.
  17. Damn what a mess. Where did you go to school again...? Why is the lab so messy and how come you dont use a water to powder ratio with that plaster ?. And whats up with the petrolium jelly excess ?, thats too much vaseline man. You have to clean the stone excess from the borders of the flask before you assemble them. And don't move so fast, it looks like you're giving a demonstration in front of 200 doctors.
