Full Time Trading and Dirt

Full Time Trading and Dirt Many people dream about and want to become full time traders and trade for a living. This dream is by no means impossible, however, the dirt you trade on plays a vital role is just how easy or difficult accomplishing your dream will be.

  1. rent in San Francisco is more expensive than even New York
  2. There are different situations, LA allows me to be my own boss and make extra money on the side whenever I need to, where in somewhere like Kansas I wouldn't be able to do it. Yes LA is expensive, but gives you plenty of opportunities to make money if you're creative, so that overshadows the cost of living, although it's not that bad compared to San Francisco for example.
  3. This was comedy GOLD lol.........TUMBLEWEEDS! and great white sharks
  4. is this market is open 24 hours or we need to make trade in specific period???
  5. Thanks Clay for these videos. I started trading around 2 years ago and its been a rough start. Chatrooms stunting my growth, overwhelming topics to learn, was hard, but through all that here you are still and thriving. I wish i had subbed you back then, but its so hard to know who to listen too. Right now im not subbed to anyone, im focusing on my own system and path, but i do desire to trade with people and i think yours might be the next place i sub when that time comes. Since ive started all your videos are good, they arent fluff or hiding things, they are straight forward and honest, i respect and appreciate that. Especially since you are giving them out for free. Most people just record their desktop, talk about indicators or some other magical BS and confuse you. Your videos always bring me clarity.

    In regards to the video

My cost of living was $2200 a month. I would spend up $3500 a month at times on .. well, weed, fancy food ( and unhealthy btw ), apartment with a fireplace, toys, the list goes on. This was in FL, Palm harbor.

My commitment to being a trader :

My cost of living is $600 a month now. My car is on vacation insurance and i walk to where i need to go for the exercise and time to think about trades/listen to audiobooks. Im living in the attic of a former employee so cost of living is cheap, i dont waste money on weed and avoid all the toys. My family literally and physically abandoned me in buffal NY ( cheap place to live ) when i told them i wanted to trade and not work for the family business anymore ( toxic people ). Its sad, but as you free yourself, you see the people closest to you are sometimes the ones trying to control you the most. But its all part of the path, because..... I want to be a trader.... period.

You have to realistic about your trading goals. Trading for a living puts a pressure on you that i cant even explain if your used to a paycheck every week. You can think your prepared for it, read about it, watch videos, talk to people, but till your staring at your budget and know you only have enough for peanut butter, cans of tuna and bananas this week, try putting on that trade then. I used to go into this chat room and when i made a trade for $100 or $50 i would be so happy and excited, but people would crap on me and tell me that it wouldnt even pay their cab fare, was very discouraging. Well i dont see them anymore, i dont see a lot of people i knew when i first started trading who "claimed" to trade for a living. But im still here, learning/unlearning and getting closer to my goal and my dream. I dont care about getting rich. You can keep your ferrari because thats just another chain. Mind you if i become good and blow up, im buying myself a Tesla, solar panels, etc so i can go off the grid and over all reduce my cost of living even more, but for now, just food, just rent, just freedom. Ill sleep in a box and trade from starbucks wifi if i have too. I want to be a trader. Period.

p.s Im happier then i have ever been. Simplicity is gold. Control of my mind and my life at every second is priceless. This is how the pharaohs, kings and the greatest men of history have lived and felt, free on the inner level, which is the birth right to all. Thats pretty special. I cant tell you how it feels to be out and see people honking and screaming at each other, cutting each other off, all because they have no control of their lives and to know that ive woken up and i have distance from that. I will never go back to that. I would have never experienced this state of being, state of possibility rooted in reality without this journey. Funny, trading is all about money right ? But to me it has been almost spiritual, forcing me to better myself mentally and physically so i perform at my peak. This is it for me. I want to be a trader........ Period :)

    Hope it helps someone.
  6. if you are going to look up numbers, you should look at median salary. wikipedia has this for each town/city. Silicon Valley has a high cost of living but the highest median salary. If you are not working, then live as cheap as possible. http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2016/05/21/24-7-wallst-cities-with-great-jobs/84538594/

  12. Are you from Kansas City?
  13. Hey Clay, I just ran into your channel yesterday. I'm 20 years old and I literally have no idea what I'm doing, but I want to get into paper trading so that once I work a job for a few years and save up some money, I can get started right out of the gate. I found your paper trading video very helpful.

What is the software you use to buy and sell stock? I'm thinking I would just make an account on that and just play around with it for a while so I can get used to all the settings and whatnot.
  14. Like living in London it's so expensive.. Another great video man.
  15. Aww it sucks to be living in Los Angeles then :( lol but good thing I'm barely 20 and only have like 2 bills to pay. Will it be easier for me to become a full time trader?
  16. lol I thought you meant to move to KC because that's where Google fiber is --so the internet is lightning fast! (faster trades) :P
