I LOVE YOU GARY MOORE
Most people don't know that this song was written by Thin Lizzy's Phil Lynott. After Phil passed away, Gary Moore played it in his honor, because they had grown up together in the same town and got tangled up in some kind of rivalry as they came up. So this song is not as you would assume about a woman, it intentionally may was, but then turned into a tribute about friendship. The scars on Gary Moore's face were caused by a jealous girlfriend, who attacked him in a bar by smashing a glass in Gary's face. As a reflex he tried to protect himself from further injuries and hit the woman in a brawl, which caused her to die. Brought him 7 years in jail, where he wrote two of his most influential albums. A very sad story. In the nineties I had the privilege to see him, backed up by Jack Bruce on bass ( Cream ) and Gary Husband on drums ( Level 42 ). They played a show in a circus tent, in the south of Germany where I lived at the time, at the age of 15. Time flies and I'm still listening.
