4. say i had a grand to invest into a dividend paying company, as an estimate how much do you think i will get back in return the first year
5. Trying to wrap my head around this. If you have a dividend paying stock already and even have a drip, in additional to that, does it make sense to buy that stock every month, or should you wait and do it every year or so? My question is based on the idea that say a stock cost $100 a share. Should you buy, say TWO shares a month, costing $200 plus $10 for the trade commission? or, buy 24 years at the end of the year, costing $100 per share, $2,400 plus $10 commission? See what I me? Doing it every month, you piss away $120 a year which seriously eats into profit margin on the dividend income. As opposed to one trade yearly or bi-yearly. Any thoughts?
6. I have a question I hope is easy to answer. Since Dividends are paid by the share - if I were to by one stock that paid $1 per share in dividends (which was 1% of the share price at that time) and then five years later that stock was now paying $2 per shares in dividends (which was now 1% of its new current share price)  and I still own my one original share - would I essentially be now getting paid a 2% yield on my original starting principle amount? This seems to me how it worked if it is truly paid 'by the share', but it wouldn't be the first time there is some mechanic behind the scenes to trick an investor.

I own WFC, USB, and AAPL stocks, and I did got to WFC website, and I was told that they don't have a DRIP nor does AAPL.  Thus, what do I have to do set up an automatic reinvestment through my WF Brokerage account?  As I mentioned in another post, I just got dividends from USB, but the dividend went into my brokerage cash account instead of getting the dividend reinvested.  Do I have to call the brokerage to tell it to reinvest my dividends?  I wonder if this is possible since I pay a commission on every stock purchase.  Thanks.
8. Note that every time you buy stocks, you must pay a commission of about $5-$10.  Thus, be careful when it is time to invest.
