Gold standard vs Fiat vs Bitcoin - Truthloader

Over the past 100 years the global money supply has increased dramatically, leading to rising prices, ordinary people forced into heavy borrowing and government debt spiraling out of control - US national debt, for example, currently stands at more than US$17.5 trillion (as of 30/04/14). In response to this, some people have been calling for a return to the gold standard, a monetary system where the value of national currencies is directly linked to gold. This is different to the fiat money system currently in use the world over, where the value of national currencies is determined by governments. Other people, however, are suggesting that the cyrptocurrency Bitcoin could be the answer, with many asking if it's the "new gold standard". 8. Bitcoin is just as stupid a paper fiat currency. It has NO VALUE and can BE CREATED. You may not be able to eat gold, but it is an industrial metal like silver. What is Bitcoins use? Can bit coin conduct electricity?

10. "There isn't enough gold in the world to match the money supply" - Wrong. There is no end to division. And other commodities can be used for storing wealth, such as silver.
11. Maybe gold is better than fiat or maybe bitcoin is a dumb idea. The best way to find out is to let the market decide. If governments would allow other forms of currency to be legal for paying debts and taxes then people would quickly move to whichever currency was the best store of value.

14. I can't believe people don't understand money. You don't need to attend no college to understand what's going on in the world of money. The gold or silver standards of backing money would work. You'll have debt but without interest imagine how much you'll save your whole life without paying interest (Taxes) on everything you purchase. Where do you think the I.R.S. came from? Fiat currency it's illegal to have this type of financial system. The founding fathers warned us of this type banking practices (fractional reserve lending) look it up. This type of financial system destroys everyone except those who are benefiting from the printing of money from nothing and charging the everyday person to pay the interest on the money borrowed.
15. I don't understand how exactly a gold standard would work today if implemented. As she said there is only 9 trillion but just the US gov has 20 trillion in debt. Anyone care to elaborate a little more?
16. Gold, FIAT, Bitcoin, they're all just things we put value on to. If the world becomes shit tomorrow, food, water, weapons, ammunition will be the new currency.
