I am also the founder of the Spartan trader academy and during the past 7 years I have helped hundreds of traders in over 70 countries to achieve their goals in trading. Let me begin with a short version of my story as a new trader to help you understand what’s needed to succeed in trading. It all started in 1999 after a big financial market crash in this country. People lost their houses and cars overnight and that was scary but also fascinating and so I started to pay attention. As a music teacher and musician I was looking for an extra income. I listened to a friend’s recommendation and bought some stocks with money I could not really afford to lose, thinking I would make some quick bucks. And do you think it worked? Of course not! I lost most of my saving in a few days actually and felt a bit sorry for myself, but still; trading generally was kind of love at first sight and it did not take long before I had made the decision (which is very crucial) to become a successful trader. I understood the danger but also saw the potential. So I tried again and again and again still ending up losing hard earned money. I mean I did not even have a trading system and any guidelines or rules when I invested in the markets the first time. I did not even think I would something like that. I also did not track anything I was doing and had no clue of money management. This mixed with a bit of greed and a big ego is not a nice combination. I realized that these ingredients would not help me to succeed in trading or life generally. Now this was in 1999 but I still remember those times very well. To bring it to the point…I was not focusing on my future success and I was asking the wrong questions like…how can I make 100 pips a week, how long will it take to become a millionaire, or how can I outsmart the markets and everybody else, so I really needed to ask the right question... …What do I have to do to make trading work for me over the long run! The answer is…invest in yourself and your education first, like you would do in any other job, and if you are ready for it then invest in the markets. Most of us did it the other way around. I first lost a lot of money before I realized that I needed some kind of help. Now, I have done and seen it all when it comes to trading and that is where the Spartan trader academy comes in. I don’t only have great passion for trading but I also love teaching and seeing others succeed. It just makes me happy witnessing students and friends literally transform into great traders with a bit work.
