How To Invest and Retire for Long Term Financial Freedom, Happiness and Efficiency!

Having an efficiency structured investment portfolio that matches your comfort levels with risk, experience with investing and financial goals is so important, especially if you want your portfolio to provide you with long term passive income that can keep up (or even exceed) the increasing cost of living (AKA inflation). When investing for the long run, having some growth asset classes blended in your portfolio can help the efficiency of your portfolio over time (10 years +) and can help get your money working harder for you. Growth assets are typically more (much more) volatile in the short to medium term, but historically have provided superior returns over the long run when compared to more conservative asset classes, like cash and fixed interest. You can see this index chart provided by Vanguard to show the returns of different asset classes over the last 30 years here https://static.vgcontent.info/crp/intl/auw/docs/resources/index_chart.pdf Please note that I am NOT recommending what asset classes that you need to or should invest in but simply educating you so that you are aware what options exist and what suits you and your needs and goals. The bigger return you expect, the bigger risk you normally need to be prepared to accept. 6. Hi Canna, I have been watching your videos for a long time and have been so motivated and inspired by you! Thank you! I am from New Zealand and we have KiwiSaver as our retirement savings. I am a 30 year old teacher and currently have my KiwiSaver in 100% in a conservative fund. Should I be moving this to a 100% growth fund? There are many different accounts such as Conservative, Balanced, Growth etc. Which one would be best for my age group? Thanks

  17. Hey Canna, does that mean you should invest in shares or share packages? My parents are going to retire in the next 5 years, have no understanding about money or finance and were always dependant on the opinions of external financial advisors who often only had their own bonuses in mind - I've always seen the stock market as a very unpredictable place that will only give you a return on your investment if you're an expert on investing and finance. How do I know I'm putting my savings in an investment that will pay off over the long run? Should you just start investing a small quantity to explore your opportunities or buy into packages were the risk is somewhat reduced as you're diversifying your investment into shares of a variety of public businesses? Sorry about the long question and thank you so much for creating such great content!! Victoria xx
