  1. What didn't you show the whole process?? I still have no idea how to do this
  2. Joe Campbell trader
  3. Wish I knew about this before DRYS epic collapse.
  4. How long do you have to "return" the stock you borrowed to the broker, in this case Etrade?
  5. atsuko says its colt btw, you should get her a sweater. BTW, nice video, thanks.
  6. This is awesome!
  7. So when you short a stock, money adds up in your account of that amount of shares you have sold and the rest of your money which u had before gonna get used as margin?! So if price goes up and your account runs out of money, it starts using the money that's been added into your account. And if the price totally goes against you. Except of blowing your account, plus you gonna get in debt for those shares you have loaned to short the stock. Am I right? for instance in your exampe here, someone could get in debt $6300 in the worst scenario?!
  8. Damn it's that easy?
  9. Wait a min, so say you short the stock and just leave it. So if you short a stock at $2 and it goes down to $1 dollar how do you get the stock at $1??
  10. Hi Damon, thanks! very helpful.

I wish to know if you can do a short selling with an ETF, like DUST or NUGT.
  11. thank you for a useful video. Immediately after the sell trade to short can you also put a buy order good for 60 days. that will protect you against the possibility of losses at least for 60 days until you renew the order. Also I did not see the option of stop loss on e trade forshorting
  12. Is it necessary to buy the stock back, or when shorting can I just short and not buy stock back? What do you do when a stock is moving very fast?!!
  13. If I am selling a stock after yours, can I pick good for the day? Or it doesn't matter?
  14. Damon, I know they say Shorting is risky because of "infinite losses", but you can eliminate infinite losses by putting a "STOP" order on it. Why did you not elect to put a STOP order?

Lets say I short 1 share of AAPL at a current price of $100. But it may rise to $9999 overnight, i will be royally screwed and lose over $9000! (after just putting down $100).
But you can easily stop or "cap" your loss if you put a Stop at $110. Thus I would have lost only $10. SO why does everywhere forewarn about the risk of infinite losses.
  15. Thanks for this. I don't understand how you can continue to lose money if a stock price goes up, though; couldn't you just sell it when it went up to a certain price and lose a couple of $? Also, how long do you go in? Months?Days? What happens if the stock goes up to $65, but then a week later falls to $60, and you shorted the stock @$63.15?
  16. what are the requirements to obtain the margin account to short stocks?when you short the stock ---is there a limited amount of time/ expiration date----that you have to place the trade/ "buy to cover". because if there is no time limit you can just wait until the stock just drops  thanks
  17. At 4:23 are you sure about that? I always thought that in brackets was the current offer... meaning someone (1 person) has an offer to bid/ask 100 shares (buy or sell respectively).
You are basically saying that the number there means that there are 100 different offers to buy (100 different people), and each one is trying to buy an undisclosed amount of shares. Is that what is really happening?
  18. right.. lol
  19. How do you give back the stock after it falls?
  20. thank you, very helpful!
