How To Trade Options: Option Order Analysis Tutorial - Options trading - Day Trading - Penny Stocks

Quick tutorial on how to analyze options and order flows using tools included in ThinkOrSwim and Twitter! My big warning in all of this: be very careful as to how you analyze options activity. Given the multiple uses options have in general and the various amounts of strategies that involve using options very differently, not all activity means the same thing. Never get into an options trade simply because there is a lot of volume. You be chasing someone’s hedge who wants the exact opposite to happen, or you might just be following someone who has no idea what they are doing. We are making another trading tutorial now and we show an example of someone who contacted us with questions about options trading and they had no idea what they were doing. They were using $20k positions and when they bought the options, it could have been viewed as a sweep and that a “whale was coming in”. What ended up happening? They lost about $10-15k. So not only be careful how you interpret options activity, but also be very careful trading options in general, they are very risky and can mess you up really quickly if you don’t know what you are doing!    I have been following your videos for a while and I really love the material!
   
   I have a quick question about options; will I ALWAYS get assigned IF I sold an in-the-money option, say one in a spread or even a naked one? I know the OCC should initiate an automatic assignment of the option because it's in the money at expiration (has some intrinsic value left).... BUT is it possible to not get assigned after selling an in the money option after the option expires?? I was hoping in such a case, the total premium could be kept if the option is not assigned, so that it expires worthless and you don't have to buy it back at a lower price to keep the difference if it performs as you wanted it to.
   
   I know it's a long question but I would really appreciate your thought! Thanks!
