  1. lol. a lot of ppl also think " we pay 1,200 a month on rent so we too can afford to buy a house" no!!!!!!. first you gotta get the money then when you get the money then you get the power then when you get power then you get the house. make your own moves
  2. Years ago, my sister keep after me to buy a home, but I never want to be my own landlord. I never brought the idea that you HAVE TO BUY A HOME . With renting, I can pick up and go, not stuck to a house.
  3. That smells like a Ponzi scheme ya think
  4. I'm 12 years old and my family lives in an apartment we can't afford a house
  5. just like some people i know who rarely work and waste their money on drugs, yet they are able to rent the nicest apt in town.
  6. I'm 27 and I got my house in 2011 and now its 2016 November 1st it will be paid for in full no more mortgage payments
  7. It's not like renting is any cheaper in my area
  8. "because home ownership leads to wealth".... ya I'm sure they will all hit the ground running!
  9. Okay I have a question just graduated have 7,000 in student debt 760 credit score started my new job 7 months ago where I make about 25 and hour as a nurse. I don't want to leave my parents house till I have paid off my debt and I want to just go ahead and get a house. how do I go about it? how much do I need to save up to get a house?
  10. This is ridiculous. Some broke people can't have a job for good reason. Disliked.
  11. Thanks for your honest opinion.
  12. I think best way is to rent a room from someone's home for $400/month, live a very simple life to save up money and buy an inexpensive home with saved up cash. Then the bank doesn't control you.
  13. There's a movie called the big short it explains what he talking about
  14. all those reasons he gave wow smart dude. so many reasons I lost count
  15. i got my first house no money down.. it was a 3 family so between my job and rents i had plenty of income. would not have been able to buy a single family like that.
  16. Im only 21 and I dont know how I end up in your channel. But Im glad i did!👍🏼😀
  17. i agree...government made it like owning a home was a right.
  18. When i seen the market starting to turn I moved to the Philippines just before the crash. I am in a better position than most because I have zero debt in any form. I may not be a home owner in the West but we have 6 apartments in the Philippines. I also find it almost alien how the real estate market justifies some of the stuff they come out with. I was watching an assessment against someone buying or renting. The figure of the property?? $500,000 so this is the average American? Only bit they got right was that they had $35,000 in the bank as the deposit was just about covered. No mention of how they managed to earn enough to pay the mortage every month.
  19. To the folks talking about rent being more expensive where you live than mortgage payments: That's going to be true pretty much everywhere, because your landlord has to pay the mortgage if they have one and still make a profit. Here's the thing you're not considering, though: maintenance costs, home improvement costs, and possibly utilities that are included in that rental cost. Plus most people get a bigger house than where they rented, so utilities will go up due to that as well. It's not going to be as simple as $1,000 rent vs $800 mortgage payment... it's probably a lot more like $1,000 rent vs $1,000+ mortgage payment/maintenance/increased utilities cost, etc.
  20. The thought of renting makes me cringe. The only reason I think purchasing a home is better is because at least you eventually have something to show for your monthly payments. With renting, your money is just slipping away and you'll have nothing to show for it 20+ years down the road. I don't think purchasing a home makes you richer though. That makes zero sense to me.
