Implant Overdenture or an Implant Retained Denture

Patients who have dentures many times wish the dentures would stay in place better. Placing dental implants and attaching the denture to them may do just that. This video was made at Cross Timbers Dental located in Flower Mound, Texas, by Dr. Brad Revering.

  1. Hello!  I don't know who to ask but i'd like to know if  "denture retainer implants" can be done from zirconium? I mean the implants that goes into the bone? I think i'm allergic to metal plus i'm highly sensitive to EMF and all metal implants just serve as an antenna into my brain to make me more sensitive to electricity. I see regular implants from zirconium but i have not seen any for retaining dentures YET. Do they exist? Please let me know, i'm searching this planet for it. Thanks in advance!
  2. When this video was made all we had were the mini implants. Since then we have transitioned into placing Locator attachments or using a bar. I really need to update this video.
  3. My mini lower implants do not "click" wnen denture is inserted. In fact there is no sound at all that the denture is set in place. The lower mini denture implants are abrasive to the tongue when the denture is left out at bed time.
  4. Yes. Implants can be used to help retain partial dentures as well.
  5. can this be done for partial dentures as well?
  6. Great Video, We take Dentists and Dental Students to the next level! Watch some of our videos and hear from our students.
  7. Please consult Dr. Misch's book on implant prosthetics to better explain it.
  8. I notice there are no implants at the back, will the patient feel pressure on gums at the rear when eating?? tyvm
  9. Implants can come loose. If too much force is placed on them the bone will not be able to support them. The "all on four" is a controversial procedure. Most dental implant experts I know express great concern about the long term success of this procedure. Maybe it will work but only time will tell. Get other opinions before you decide.
  10. I don't think implants can come loose because they are surgically imbedded.. My husband is getting the new procedure "all on four" meaning 12 lower teeth with only four implants, all done in a day. He will leave their with temporary teeth and get the final ones insix weeks. $17,500!
  11. A Complete, upper and lower Implant supported denture in India would cost somewhere between USD 1600-1800.
  12. and that is worth thousands of dollars???
  13. @kodiak1966 I am not sure how much would it cost in canada, but in my country full lower denture with these 4 implants would be around 1600-2000 canadian dollars together and it is done within a week or so
  14. Do the implants ever come loose. It's hard to imagine that they wouldn't. Do you get food particles caught under the dentures that could cause pain?
  15. How much would it cost to get a full upper and lower bridge put in?? In Canadian dollars.
