Introduction to U.S. Money (for ESL students)

PowerPoint review of U.S. coins and bills for English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) learners. Note that U.S. coins do not have numbers on them that indicate their value. For example, the 10-cent coin has the word "dime" on it. A person must have good eyesight, be able to read English, and know what the word "dime" means. Newly arrived immigrants and first-time visitors to the United States can benefit from this review.

Comments

  1. Great video. Very useful. It wouldn't take too much to adapt this for the Canadian Context.
  2. Um you know there is a 50 dollar bill?
  3. the heads and tails comes from our English 5 pence which has the Queen's head on one side and a lion on the mother
  4. Why not just write numbers on the coins?
