  1. Can I use Vanguard if I am not from the US?
  2. Yes. I found what I was looking for in this vid! Vtsmx $3k. And it Does switch to vtsax after 10k! Yay. Hopefully this is still true. I was a bit overwhelmed by their website.
  3. did you guys already do an update on how well her 10k investment has done? :) love the finance videos
  4. Good job guys, is there any apps that you would recommend that help kids learn to save money?
  5. Newbie here !Thank you guys so much for all your time and info, knowledge etc. I'm super psyched you guys mentioned Roth IRA with Vanguard, because I have one! Just got it Last year but haven't been as aggressive with it. Id also like to look into the VTS...XI??? (index) lol (you know what i mean) you guys keep mentioning, however I'm a bit confused on how I can get into doing that, do I need to create a new account with Vanguard for that? or is it as simple as a quick purchase? Still familiarizing myself with their site, I know I have to work on that...so much info, but so glad I have your channel to reference back to!

Thanks again for everything! Wishing you continued success and hope you reach your goals Real real soon!!!! cheering you on
  6. You are getting sales charge and expense ratio mixed up. The sales charge is when the fund is purchased each time a dollar goes in not on the entire amount invested in the fund every year. You are paying for the planner's time and coaching. They should be providing value added service outside of fund selection. Do the math on how much you are putting in and paying in commissions vs the time they are spending with you and figure out their hourly rate before you decide its a rip off.
  7. You really should have a basic script (notes) to read from and later edit these videos. I know what you're trying to say but it just plain hurts listening because you're having a terrible time voicing basic investing concepts in a coherent and cogent manner. Index fund (basket of stock) is a representative sample of a group of stocks. S&P 500 - rep. sample of the 500 largest US stocks. Total US Stock Market Index represent the entire US stock market. You didn't mention bonds and it's importance nor did you mention diversification. More accurate to say Expense Ratio is the internal administrative cost of running a mutual fund that covers say the electric /utility bill, employee cost and the fund manager's fee.

That quoted 5% "most" 401(k) fee is a ridiculous claim. Vanguard's quoted expense ratio of 0.05% is it's lowest for us but that is not typical.

Being young is the wrong reason for you suggest going 100% stocks and no bonds. Someone's stock /bond allocation is partly a function of an investor's risk tolerance which you sorta weakly referenced earlier in the video.

"pull it out of your bank account month automatically" - that's a fragment of an idea you failed to discuss. 23:40

IRA > IRA ladder > Roth - you should say traditional IRA. You provide no context or even a simple explanation of why do to this. It likely only applies to a small percentage of your target audience. You state "best of both worlds" but fail to explain what worlds you're talking about.
  8. Hi. I have an inside tip that boiled denim is about to go big. REALLY big. Should I invest or not? Thanks.
  9. What's the difference between open a general savings and Roth IRA account?. I plan on early retirement but I understand you can only withdraw money from the Roth IRA after you are 59, so if I plan to retire when I am 40 years old what type of account should I use or how do I withdraw money from the Roth IRA before I am 59?
  10. so for a first timer if I put in 3k, and a week later or 2 weeks it goes down to 2200, etc what Im wondering is if I lose the $800 what is being invested the 2200, or the 3k I initially invested? HELP!
  11. Shouldn't she have 3 to 6 months of living expenses. Which I would imagine for a single person is $8k to $15K. The 13 K she should have for her emergency fund.
  12. I'm about to be a new investor and was so confused at all the other videos out there, but your videos actually very real and understandable. Definitely have a grasp on things now, thanks!
