Investors Can Make Double Digit Returns With Social Investing

Responsible investing is no longer just a trend or niche approach says Amy O'Brien, Managing Director at TIAA Global Asset Management. She spoke with TheStreet's Rhonda Schaffler at the Milken Institute Global Conference in Los Angeles. The growth of ESG investing or that which incorporates environmental, social and corporate governance is no longer a fringe concept says O'Brien. An increasing number of individual and institutional investors are including the approach into their investment decision making. And there's been a shift in the mindset about ESG investing. 'It's no longer about restricting portfolios. It's whether these factors can add value to the investment decision making process,' she says. O'Brien says investors can achieve double bottom lines with an increasing offering of mutual funds, ETFs and other vehicles through which they can invest.
