17. In the eighties, the DEPT. of ENERGY started work on the " SUPERCONDUCTING SUPER COLLIDER in the county I live in in Texas. They were to dig a 52 mile in diameter tunnel for their atom smashing work in looking for the "origins of the universe" among other things.
