He's Kevin O'Leary and here is my take on his Top 10 Rules for Success. -= KEVIN'S RULES =- 1. You have to sacrifice a lot 2. Trust your gut 3. Have diversification 4. Have a backup plan 5. Be a leader 6. Admit your weaknesses 7. Buy stocks with dividends 8. Differentiate between family, friends & money 9. Get outside of North America 10. Go with simple ideas ✎ He developed an interest in business and investing at a young age and cites his mother with endowing his interest and facility for business. He earned an MBA in entrepreneurship from the Ivey Business School at The University of Western Ontario in 1980. O'Leary co-founded Special Event Television. His ownership was later bought out for $25,000 by one of his partners. After selling his share of the company, O'Leary moved on to his second business venture, Softkey. In 1995, Softkey acquired The Learning Company for $606 million, and changed its name to The Learning Company. O'Leary later sold the company in 1999, for $4.2 billion to Mattel. ✎ In 2003, O'Leary became a co-investor and director at Storage Now, Canada's leading developer of climate controlled storage facilities. In 2008 he co-founded O'Leary Funds Inc., a mutual fund company focused on global yield investing. Since 2009 he has been a shark on the American version of Dragons' Den, Shark Tank, which airs on ABC. 20. Interesting when you compare Mark Cubans view and Kevin O'Learys view on investing. Both are sharks on Shark tank but Mark says that diversification is for idiots who don't know what they are doing and Kevin says it's very important.
