Local Investing Made Easy

Peak Moment 201: We're "keeping money flowing locally so we're more prosperous as a community," says James Frazier, co-founder of the Local Investment Opportunities Network (LION) in Port Townsend, WA. LION is a clearinghouse between business owners like Matthew Day and potential investors like Kees Kolff. A business owner presents an investment opportunity to LION members. It's all based on one-to-one personal relationships, so support can be more than monetary, says Kees -- such as interest paid in locally-produced cheese and cider![http://www.L2020.org/LION] ------- Because of viewers like you, this show is free to the world on YouTube. 1. What great ideas they've come up with for their community. I love the ideas for dividends in cheese and blueberries. What more could you ask for!
  2. that was very interesting....
  3. Chamber of Commerce
  4. Thank you :-)
  5. Anything like this in Arizona?
  6. @scarmenl they are using of peak in two different meanings, and example of the second use of peak would be more akin to the Golden age of movies or saying someone is in peak physical form.
  7. This video is great. It is good to see some positive local build up of business. It has hit me what bothers me about your videos. You say peak oil. Well ok. You say peak inovation. Well I don't agree with that at all. I think that the ideas and what can be done are just getting started. If we could get the dumbing down that is going in the schools stopped. If we could get a lot of the chems. out our food that hurt kids thinking I believe that the future would be amazing.
  8. I love this kind of stuff. Reminds me of a local Kickstarter or Kiva. Small, decentralized economies are an important part of transitioning.
