Now is the time His first step into the business world was at age 12, when he sold garbage bags to pay for a pair of expensive basketball shoes. 2. Be passionate Rather than attend high school for his senior year, he enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh. During college, he had various business ventures, including a pub, disco lessons, and a chain letter. 3. Don't make excuses He was fired as a software salesman less than a year after being hired, after meeting with a client to procure new business instead of opening the store. 4. Learn from history Cuban started a company, MicroSolutions. In 1990, he sold it to CompuServe—then a subsidiary of H&R Block—for $6 million. 5. Enjoy competing In 1995, Cuban started Audionet. With a single server and an ISDN line, Audionet became Broadcast.com in 1998. 6. Know your business By 1999, Broadcast.com had grown to 330 employees and $13.5 million in revenue. In 1999, during the dot com boom, Broadcast.com was acquired by Yahoo! for $5.7 billion in Yahoo! stock. 7. Be brutally honest with yourself The Guinness Book of Records credits Cuban with the "largest single e-commerce transaction", after he paid $40 million for his Gulfstream V jet in October 1999. 8. Know your strengths and weaknesses On January 4, 2000, Cuban purchased a majority stake in the NBA's Dallas Mavericks for $285 million. 9. Be unique He's also a "shark" investor on the television series Shark Tank. 10. 6. If we all tried to run our economic lives in a manner similar to the way Cuban has run his economic life, for more than 99% of us, the result would be a bankruptcy.
   We can't all be chiefs; most of us have to be Indians. We can't all build castles and live in them; most of us have to settle for sweeping the floor and working in the kitchen.
   
   The secret is to live beneath your means, and invest the resulting savings in equity index funds, held as Roth IRAs. Older parents who are comfortable should help their children make the first downpayment on a house, and save for retirement when their income is low (early in career) and spending needs are high (young children).

14. I was fired many times before. I'm 30 ,at least 6 times I was fired. it was my fault I should have chosen my passion to study English at university, then start teaching English to my Chinese friends, and make a living as English teacher. but instead I choose what I really hated super expensive nursing course and medical course to study at university, then ended up dropping out of university, and still had my university student loans need to pay , renting apartment outside my parents place. and have only a high school diploma walking around and my English sucks , not good enough to make a living by teaching English, going to jobs interview I hated . and have horrible working attitude, so I was fired many times.been working on my innerself ,with a successful positive attitude change myself to be the best version of myself. hope I will be really successful and really rich in the near future.
