Mining for Zinc and other Industrial Metals. Charles Gibson: Head of Mining at Edison Research comments. Really boring metals such as lead and zinc are suffering from chronic underinvestment. Please comment. I think there is investment in those metals; its just they attract less attention. Lead hasn't gone up as much as the other metals in the last 10 or 15 years; it makes it difficult to sell an investment proposition to investors. It is not going to attract the same attention as a precious metal like Gold. The deposits are probably larger and it needs more capital.
