NCB Jamaica 170th anniversary - Refuge All Age Sch. Library

N.C.B. Foundation Investing in Jamaica's Future The N.C.B. Foundation has been working to 'Build a Better Jamaica' through education, entrepreneurship and community development initiatives. It is our vision to provide opportunities for meaningful change and improvement in the lives of all Jamaicans. The Foundation through the Jamaican Education Initiative (JEI) contributed over J$22 Million last year in scholarships, grants and bursaries to various primary, secondary and tertiary level students across the nation. The Foundation also believes in a holistic approach to learning and as such contributes towards the upgrading of school facilities and the provision of educational resources. To date over 300 schools have benefited from receiving computers, photo copy machines and renovation of existing facilities. In November 2007, the Foundation embarked on an all island Build a Better Jamaica Donation Project. The project was a means of giving back to communities island wide in celebration of the National Commercial Bank's 170 years of service to Jamaica. One project was selected form each parish. One such project was the upgrading of the Refuge All Age School located in the Parish of Trelawney. The school took time to celebrate with representatives of the National Commercial Bank at a ceremony in which the students expressed appreciation for this goodwill. Please see video.
