  1. Mani what happened on the surgical strike day, did all the profit wiped off or still you were successful
  2. Hi Mani, Could you please make a generic video on difference between writing with MIS and writing NRML?

And also how margin gets deducted and what happens to the margin if we hold for next day and buy next day to square off the written(sold) position?

Also what happens to the extra margin that was held? Will it be released if we buy again? I would like to know how margin gets deducted if premium keeps going high after we short... minute by minute margin is taken or EOD??
  3. Excellent Sir.
  4. Good one Manikandan
  5. dont touch options or futures if you have capital less than 10 lacs.
there is no percentage return in speculation or speculating an event.

calculating percentage returns on margin requirement is absurd.

Remember those 3% return that are talked doesnt take into account execution costs...and further not take into account one sharp move against you......

say you do it on all 12 expiries of a year and market just need to move twice against you and may take away say 30-40 points and you lose all your earnings for the year.

Option markets are near perfect...those who buy those options from you are no fools.

Though the video is nicely presented and yes ofcourse with right amount of discipline and proper exit strategy one may make money out of this but again easier said than done.
  6. Any advantage of weekly BSE options? You can use this tip every week on expiry right?
  7. selling otm options close to expiry will more or less expire worthless, making the option seller profitable.but the point here is the premium will not be attractive and the margins blocked will be high. THE RATE OF RETURN WILL BE VERY CONSERVATIVE JUST MARGINALLY BETTER THAN A GOVT BOND AND THE RISK IS ALWAYS THERE HERE
  8. Can you tell me the exact amount brokerage + Tax, I will have to pay on option selling? Because Zerodha brokerage calculator shows me a total charge of 826Rs for per nifty lot size(75) strike price 7500 . So if I sell put or a call for a premium of 7Rs that will only fetch me 525 Rs. How will I gain money? The point to breakeven is around 11Rs per nifty lot size (75).
  9. Great sir I liked your startegy and openness with which it is shared Thanks for your generousity.
  10. Hi sir,

  11. Sir,

Can you please explain what's out of money and in the money contract .

    Thanks is advance
  12. Hi Mani
Some questions of the weekly sell strategies. I am new to options, so please bear with me....
    1) You mentioned about doing the expiry week strategy on a daily basis. How do you do that? How do you calculate the average daily nifty range? I know vaguely that a daily, weekly and monthly nifty might help... but... easier way?
    2) Also if I do on a daily basis how much margin will I need?
    3) Also clarity on doing weekly expiry during the last four days? Is it on a daily basis or ....? Also if I do daily can I rotate the same capital?
  13. Hi Mani ,
Isn't it a little difficult to time the entry with the Heiken Ashi charts for day trade. I mean does one place the order at the end of the candle or the beginning of the next candle. The Option selling video touches upon this topic but not in depth.

I am asking this question because today (21/Oct/15), I wanted to trade Nifty futures. At 9.25 AM a tall green Heiken Ashi candle was formed giving the indication that the price may go up. I was following the 5 min chart.

The 9.25 AM candle closed at 8268.20 and the next candle opened at 8263.29. At this point in time on taking a look at normal candles I saw that the next candle had opened where the previous candle had ended i.e. 8268.00. Had I relied on the Heiken Ashi candle my entry would actually have been at 8268.00 and not 8263.29 as the Heiken Ashi candle was indicating?

Therefore, my questions simply put is should the entry be at/near the end of the first candle of Heiken Ashi or the opening of the next candle.

    Thanks,
    Sidh
  14. Great video sir, but i have observed u that, u do most of ur trading in options, may I ask u why not in Futures?. On a normal day when U know the trend and u want to short, then also u short options, but not futures.....why is it so? Are there any added merits\demerits?
