Understanding the value of social currency & how to use it (for better or worse) is what Amir Elkhalifa aka Oddisee focused on as the primary inspiration for his writings. Oddisee is also ready to unveil his 2016 plan which includes a new instrumental album in May, a tour with his band Good Compny from May through July, and the heavily anticipated follow up to "The Good Fight", an all new solo album in the fall. 5. spitting so true cant wait to hear more
  6. they should play this real fucking loud for the ppl in the back
  7. Isn't that what you fear most
But fear don't trump your needs
Our pros do trump our cons though
But cons don't trump your greed...
  8. his voice like a combination of kid cudi and rza
  9. CunninLynguists, Doomtree, Guante, Locksmith, Hopsin, Macklemore, Mega Ran, Shad...the indie list of Trap music sell-outs is growing! And now, I welcome Oddisee in "Lifting Shadows." But, this wasn't just a Trap song, it was a Trap buffet. He even says "Trap House" at (1:03) which is all the proof I need. (0:38) "You give yours to a Charity fund, I give mine to a cuz that’s sick." When did giving to family outrank Charity? Both are Acts Of Kindness, not to mention that giving to strangers is more selfless and compassionate than giving to obligatory close relatives. But, this entire song can be deduced to how Oddisee is so much smarter than everyone else; this moment was brought to you by Hopsin. The opening line at (0:25) "just $1 below $10k, that's the amount I'm flying with." Oddisee, you're supposed to be the Marquee Rapper, the Pride and Joy, the face of Mello Music Group and you're only worth $10K...that really doesn't say much about the label. I don't even want to imagine Lando Chill's worth? -$1000 Monopoly money. Oddisee, I thought rap was supposed to make you rich, remember that was supposed to be the plan. And you're flying with the money...what in a Duffel bag or in an online account? You're more Small Time than Tottenham and this song just bleeds a narcissistic self-delusion.
  10. lost somebody you loved in the towers and looking at me like i boarded the plane

  16. FIRE
  17. this is awesome, how can this guy be that underrated? :o
  18. Oddisee channeling Brother Ali on that hook. Phenomenal song.
  19. "I got a cuz that'll drive your taxi,
got a cuz that'll cook your food,
I got a cuz that'll look after your kids,
and when they're done pick em up from school,
I got a cuz that'll pump your gas,
I got a cuz that's good with tools,
I got a cuz that'll be your doctor,
after attempts that you hope will pass.
Isn't that what you fear most?
but fear don't trump your needs,
Our pros do trump our cons though,
But our cons don't trump your greed!
A monster is what you make of us,
    and we make you succeed,
And that's what makes this country great,
It's built by those who bleed,
It's built by those who came on boats,
It's built by those who flee,
    You forgot your family tree,
    we are all your leaves!
And, if you try to chop us down,
    you'll only hurt your knees,
And we can go in pieces, but
    we'd rather come in peace"
  20. sick man keep it up!
