Speaking at a function in Delhi, R.B.I. Governor Rahguram Rajan has clarified that the currency note printed prior 2005 would continue to be in circulation. The latest move is to replace notes with enhanced security features. He also clarified that this has nothing to do with the elections and the value of the notes would remain unchanged.
