Online Broker TD Ameritrade Teams Up With Twitter to Help Investors Pick Stocks

TD Ameritrade is teaming up with Twitter to help investors make better decisions, said Nicole Sherrod, Managing Director of Trading for TD Ameritrade. Sherrod added that investors can use the Twitter data to gauge positive and negative sentiment about a company's brands. For example, Sherrod said that Bebe Stores was trending positively on Twitter along with LinkedIn. Sherrod said the Twitter data enables investors to judge a stock fundamentally, technically and now socially. Finally, Sherrod said she expected more advances in this partnership as social media has changed the way investors stay informed about the market.
