OptionsHouse Review: Finding The Right Brokerage Firm

OptionsHouse (Discount Link): http://reddysetgo.com/visit/optionshouse/ My other brokerage firms are: TradeKing: http://reddysetgo.com/tradeking Motif Investing: http://reddysetgo.com/motif Subscribe to my personal finance newsletter: http://rsg2.launchrock.com/ One of the hardest things about getting into investing is finding the right brokerage firm. Switching accounts from one broker to another isn't easy. Finding one you will be happy with long term can save you a lot of headaches and time down the road. I actually went through 2-3 different brokerage firms when I started and I wouldn't want anyone to go through that hassle if they don't have to. I use OptionsHouse (UPDATE: I switched to TradeKing and recommend you check them out as well ....here's the link http://www.reddysetgo.com/tradeking) for my investing accounts, however there are many services out there with similar capabilities. I just find optionshouse makes it super simple, has low transaction costs ($4.75) and provide a lot of great research tools. If you want to try it, here's a shortcut to get 150 free trades when opening an account: http://reddysetgo.com/visit/optionshouse/ Thanks, Sam

  1. Is it possible to set up iron condors here and earn a profit on time decay? I'm looking for a brokerage open to non-US residents which offers this and the ability to visualize calls/puts placed on a graph.
  2. I dont know how to show or express how grateful i am sir but God will continue to bless and keep you for us, your strategy has turned my life around for good, i just made my first profit of $200k after few months, thank you Scott, contact him via email : scottadrian1952@gmail.com
  3. so what's the minimum starting balance that you're req'd to have with OH?
  4. Their mobile app is garbage, but their web platform (formerly trademonster) is quite good.
  5. How do I get started with the virtual simulation?
  6. I only have 200$ to invest. Only 3 months experience, should I invest with this website?
  7. Great! Great Video! I really appreciate this. It is a good review and was in a timely manner. Thank you!
  8. Everything has changed since the merger with Trademonster for the worst...
  9. hi Sam  i would  like to invest  in options   ,  i did  my homework  and  trading  over 2 years now,  have some idea and practiced  how to trade it in thinkorswim  but they don’t let me  open an  account  as i live in London  :/  option house  would  do it  with a bit of  extra paper work  .... i am a bit  stacked  calculating buying power,  exposure with a cash account  approx  5000 usd . I  try to figure  out  what would be the effect  on my account   , expected risk reward but  there is  no much information available on the  net .  of  course  i can try  paper money  with  OH  but  before i open an account   would  be great  to know how  limited  i m with a small account . also  planning to  trade, different strategies:  iron condor  , spreads , strangle ,  ect  .   thank u in advance
  10. there's just one thing i dont get.WHAT IS THE OPTIONS?i mean 4.95+ for contract?what the hell is this?i know which companies i want to invest in,ALL  i need for my broker is to buy the stocks for me (i would do it alone but cant)
  11. I've been looking at different brokers to join.  Initially I wanted to go with TD Ameritrade but off the bat I was only approved for Tier 1 options trading which only allows me to trade covered calls and cash secured puts.  Not interested.  I was wondering if optionshouse will allow me to simply buy and sell calls and puts? What is their criteria?
  12. I was ripped off for 300.00 for something called DTCC when I ordered 5 shares of stock . There was no warning from the trading platform and when I called them I was told they did not know how to avoid this in the future. They said it would be refunded but has never happened. It  takes a half hour to get them to answer the phone and don't reply to emails. This is the worst broker, they took my cash in my account and now I can not even sell the stocks since they took all my cash
  13. If im trying to get a better understanding in stocks what would i have to do ? im willing to invest or what ever but i dont want to make stupid moves
  14. how much do I need to make $100 per day?
  15. Another cool thing is that if fees go up you get grandfathered in at your cost. My trades only Cost $4.50 a trade rather than the latter.
