3. You can't actually update this hunk of junk. Assuming you can even FIND a copy of the software on the Oregon Scientific site, you find that the software doesn't actually find the pen, even after you install the drivers that come with the software. This hunk of landfill will be claiming Barack Obama is the President of the USA until the toy gets thrown out.
4. Yes you have to start the program plug in the pen and hold the reset button for 3.5 seconds then download and then wait for ten minutes when it says done just wait an extra minute or two and then your done
5. WHEN IT SAID TO FIND MOROCCO HE CLICKED TO SOUTH AMERICA. FAIL.
6. too bad the pen doesn't update. In fact there is nowhere to get the drivers to install the Pen when you plug it in your PC. Its will always be in PST and the claim that it is up-datable is false advertisement. My mom got this for my son last Christmas (2008) and we ended up returning it. Unless they fixed these issues (I doubt) they did, I recommend staying away from this globe.
