Q1 2017 Report - Volatility Trading Strategies - Investing

Another great quarter for us here at Volatility Trading Strategies. Our Total Portfolio Solution made nearly 5%, but it was a very low volatility quarter so we approached it with caution and reduced our trade activity to the least possible amount. 1. I have checked the performance for Q1 2017 of your VTS Tactical Volatility Strategy and I'm surprised as you compare its results to SPY (S&P500) when you used to compare it to 'XIV Buy & Hold' until Q2 2016. Comparing XIV to SPY is like comparing pears to apples, two different asset classes. A person (without any financial or trading knowledge) who bought XIV in November '11 would have massively outperformed SPY's results even suffering the drawdowns (>50%) commented in your video.

From my humble opinion, it would be better if you compared your VTS Tactical Volatility Strategy to 'XIV Buy & Hold' in order to see what is the added value you provide to your suscribers.

By the way, the fact that volatility is low is not an excuse to avoid trading volatility just in case of spike event or black swan. I doubt that volatility was extremely low before 9/11 terrorist attacks.

    Regards.
