3. You have people like Streetspeed717 who have made it to big heights with just a go pro. Im a photographer, so I have a really nice DSLR. But for shooting vlog type stuff, its terrible. For doing more "cinematic" or "produced" shots, it cant be beat. I use my iphone 7 plus for most of my stuff these days, because I always have it with me. It takes as good of video as something like a cheaper DSLR or mirrorless camera, or a gopro. BUT........its not something that works well with a lot of motion. Mounting it in the car to video..terrible. Handheld or on a stabilzer, it works pretty good. I also have a gopro, which I Rarely use, because its a cumbersome POS. Im picking up a cheap Sony A5000 for vlog type stuff tonight for the NY trip. Im afraid gopro is the best way to go for in-car video stuff, or holding something light like your gopro or phone. Holding a DSLR with a big lens, you will start to dislike really quickly. My 2 cents brotha. They always say, its not what you use, but how you use it...or some shit
