The Utube video is terrible. The screen takes up about a quarter of my terminal and the presenter points to fields that cannot even be viewed. Holding down the control plus the + key blows up your fonts but does nothing to enhance the fuzzy viewing screen. To learn about options, go to Options Express - it is free to start and the presenter Nina is great. Depending on how much you invest in TDAmeritrade you can get tuition credits with Investtools training. The first two courses are great; the gent presenting Options is pathetic and stumbles and repeats himself. The folks doing the scheduling are very defensive and try to talk you into taking the course. I may be overly sensitive having taken a 30day/30 night course in the Marine Corps before being permitted to present and supervise other instructors. Schwab is wonderful to deal with; I have accounts in Ameritrade and Schwab.

I scanned all my documents in and sent it to them (TD Ameritrade). I should have my account opened up on Friday 28th Oct. By then it would have been 3 weeks to get my account approved and opened. Is this normal?

TD Ameritrade is pathetic..I swear they run their website off a Commodore 64 . Their Tech support does not have a clue. We had one of their "salesmen" call my wife at work (Pathetic) trying to get her to open a 401K with them. Also when the market was taking a huge dip..their website went down (way to be there in critical times AMTD) and when I called to inform the tech...he was clueless. Google Ameritrade sucks.... Wait !! they have gotten even more Pathetic...Scum just like their CEO imho.

I'm surprised you didn't review Think or Swim. It's much more robust than the stock TD platform.
the 'trigger an option order' isn't selectable for me. why?
My personal experience with TDA and their referred auto-trade partner Red Option has been horrible...I lost thousands in a few months. Trading is risky, however when you pay someone to trade for yo you expect better results. I personally will never have anything to do with TDA it was a nightmare !

Hey I would like to ask couple question since I never done this before but I'm trying to get started. First of all is this trading platform good for someone that has no experience at all. Also do I need some basic start up money to actually start trading and most importantly basic tips to someone new what should I check out first or learn maybe even some good youtube tutorials and websites that I can get information about this new world
I'm going to open an account with TD Ameritrade but I'm just curious. Do you know what trading platform do professional brokers use? Have you seen the movie "Margin Call"? I would like to know what kind of platform do those kind of people use. Is it TD Ameritrade, E*Trade, Scott or something totally different that you have to buy one time for like $1,000 like eSignal?
