Robert Kiyosaki: "Capital Gains is a Ponzi Scheme"

Robert Kiyosaki sits down with Kurt Carlton, CEO of Sherman Bridge Lending and Andrew Welker, CEO of New Western. Robert talks about the root causes that contributed to so many people getting wiped out in Texas investment real estate in the downturn of the great recession of 2008. He describes the difference between investing in real estate for capital gains verses cash flow. Kiyosaki states he mainly invests in distressed houses and apartment buildings in Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston investment real estate. He is also a big proponent of using leverage such as hard money to get your investment deal done. New Western is a Texas based company that provides investment properties for real estate investors www.NewWestern.com and Sherman Bridge Lending provides rehab lending for real estate investors www.ShermanBridge.com.

  1. I Love This Guy. Robert Kiyosaki to hang out with you one day in my lifetime i'm sure it will be like a million.
  2. Nothing wrong with capital gains. It just shouldn't be your only strategy. You can compound capital gains in a special way and make more than he's making with his units.
  3. I really don't get this man then, because in Rich Dad Poor Dad he suggests investing and trading stocks, now he's saying that capital gain is for idiots and a ponzi scheme? As a matter of fact he even goes as far as saying that "the stock market is one of the most powerful investment tools". So what will it be?

On top of that, it's whatever works for you, if trading makes you money, well so be it, or if waiting 200 years for a stock to climb makes you money, hey more power to you, I don't think because you're Robert Kiyosaki you can get to call people idiots because they don't make money like you do, it's whatever works for you.
  4. I love the teachings of Robert Kiyosaki!!  I've been binge reading his books and am resisting the urge to get into stocks for capital gains.  I hope to purchase a multi unit building in the next year to live in and cash flow while living there.  I'm strategizing to acquire more cash flowing assets after that.

  10. Capital Gains vs. Cash Flow,–  As investors, or just people with a genuine passion for real estate deals, we have a tendency of noticing properties that might be good deals along the routes of our daily activities driving around town. Starting in August of 2010, I noticed a house for sale along the way to bring my kindergartener back and forth to school every day.   http://rental4income.com/capital-gains-vs-cash-flow-part-ii-skagway
