9. What his example about establishing value demonstrated to me is the fundamental irrationality of 'free markets'. We have investors, alleged professionals throwing money at investment products that they can not really evaluate empirically. Because as Enron and Bear Stearns demonstrated companies like icebergs have a lot going on underneath the surface. Yet we laude capitalism as both efficient and effective when it should really be regarded as yet another faith based philosophy like the world’s major religions...only more dangerous. After all disillusionment can't make you homeless, jobless and bankrupt.
