Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary on why he's not investing in energy

Kevin O'Leary from the U.S. reality TV show Shark Tank has a brash style which has been part of his success as a businessman and investor. CCTV America reporter Patrice Howard spoke to O’Leary about how investors can find opportunities in today’s market. O'Leary is a self made multi-millionaire with an estimated net worth of 400 million dollars. Like the entrepreneurs that appear on Shark Tank, O 'Leary started with a big vision, but small funds. He launched an educational software company from his basement which he eventually sold to toy giant Mattel for 3.7 billion dollars. It was one of the largest deals ever in the consumer software industry. O'Leary has since founded his own mutual funds company and has invested in dozens of ventures.

  5. where can i see the rest of this interview?
  6. When China sneezes the world catches a cold, said no one ever.
  7. I disagree with him on wall street. Finance is important, but the finance of the 80's and early 90's is long gone. In the old days, they would finance projects for expansion, that is good. What we saw in 2008 was Investment Banks, like Goldman Sachs, using their financial leverage to control and manipulate markets. With Standard and Poor's they rigged the Mortgage Back Securities market and sold AAA rated securities, and then secretly bet against them. That is why people have a problem with Wall Street. If Wall Street was in the business of financing new bridges or work expansions, there would be no problem, but Wall Street fucked over a lot of people and no one has forgotten. Don't get me started on adjustable rates and how Goldman Sachs convinced many cities around the world to switch their debt to adjustable rates. I have no problem with Wall Street but Kevin acts like the hate is baseless, when in reality it makes sense and to tell you the truth Wall Street got away with it.
