  1. just look at the price increase/ounce of gold and silver for the past 20 years.Compare that with cost of living, salary increase etc and you'll see that with precious metals you can save and invest at the same time.
  2. I bet buffet owns at least 1.00 troy ounce.
  3. In the case of a physical or natural disaster people won't be able to take "land" and "businesses" with them. Buying precious metals is what I consider to be common-sense liquidation
  4. Of course! Precious metals are at the top of the pyramid of economic value. Almost all national currencies are backed by them and in the case of a revolution or other SHTF situation it'll more than likely be the new currency worldwide(all over again). Those Franklins & Jacksons we spend here will mean nothing in Europe, Asia, etc when that day comes. I bet Gold and silver will
  5. I have been able to rake in more cash with gold and silver than any other investment. This example Warren makes about comparing gold to farm land seems to me to not be a good comparison. Why compare gold to farmland? Does Warren compare dollars to farmland? His dollars wont do anything either. He should be comparing dollars to gold not farmland to gold. Gold is used as money not as food supply. How does he think services will be paid for if the dollar goes down in value? Gold has been around for thousands of years. It is a good insurance its just that buffet would rather have people believe that investing in his companies is better that way he makes more money.
  6. I have to be honest, I took you for a snake oil salesman or the top stone in a pyramid scheme, but this is really solid advice. physical gold is decent for hedging against inflation, but it's not at a point where it can feasibly appreciate enough to generate worthwile returns. Titanium on the other hand... Currently at a 10 year lowest point, but production has slowed, and recently demand is spiking. Plus drips. I like drips.
  7. Nice explanation.
  8. Ron Swanson is rich by investing in gold. That's why I do it.
  9. lol I invested in gold miners since January with 600% gain and I'm 50k richer :D and still holding on.
  10. Yes I agree that gold and silver don't actually do anything, and is only given value by human beings but isn't that the same thing as the U.S. dollar? I would much rather have a source of income in which the government can't print and devalue at will than something that can be devalued at will. And remember Warren Buffet at one time invested heavily into silver , I believe that he bought about 500 million dollars worth of silver in the 60's or 70's I don't remember. He single handedly rose the price of silver by 4 dollars when the market price of silver was 3 dollars. I believe that there are somethings that Warren Buffet don't tell all of us, we just have to watch his actions to find his method of investing.
  11. I agree that gold doesn't have a yield which is why not your whole portfolio should be in gold. Gold is seen as the true money, a safe investment that's outside of the financial system. There is a lot of people that are getting nervous about our current economic situation with the national debt and 0% interest rates to name a few. That's whats driving the price up for gold. The fear of economic uncertainties.

I personally think that every healthy personal portfolio should have about 10-20% of their equity in gold. True money that has held it's value for almost 5000 years. That can never evaporate like a stock market crash or currency crisis. See it as your savings.

The rest should be as Tai says, in assets that have intrinsic value and makes money, like land and rental real estate. That's my opinion at least.

Thanks for an awesome channel Tai.
  12. 50's ford fairlane hardtop convertible. Ferraris not the first
  13. Bitcoin is digital gold! Better investment than gold.
  14. I agree with most of these observations but Tai didn't quite listen to Buffett. He said productive assets will kill non productive assets over a long time. His words were "over a 100 year period" I totally agree with this and the advice on all assets not inflating the same way is also very sound, but gold is really an alternative currency, it's the alternative money from the dollar system. In a world were they are abolishing cash or going to a cashless society were everything is electronic gold is an asset you might want to own, perhaps Bitcoin is also something to consider. Also if you can buy any asset cheap enough you will make money, is gold expensive or cheap relative to stocks ? At $250 it was obviously to cheap which is why it completely destroyed the stock market between the period 2000-2012 anyway these are things to consider
  15. The queen of England has about 150 trillion worth of gold
  16. btc
  17. Thanks man. :)
  18. The end of the day if a person has precious metal in the long run the person Will be the one truly rich. when the stock market crash the bonds, the legal tender or I should say paper money, stocks etc will fail!!!!
  19. Is a limited item or I should say scarce!!!!
  20. Gold and silver has intrinsic value!!!! Is basic economic.
