2. I'm just curious why teachers are still using the base 2 system for trading. YES its important to know where the numbers come from but really its all patterns. For instance you can turn the strategy to  ANY? binary/decimal number systems into any numbers by parsing. All you need is the first 16 digits (Decimal 0-15) An example: For octal split your group of binary, from LSB to MSB, every three spaces then write the "octal" code for it inside the trade calculator.
