1. you sell the stocks at a higher price which happens when the business is doing well and the companies net worth increases. it is like gambling so be warned there is risk involve in stock trading. there are lots of other options for investing that are less risky but they are more long term such as investing in mutual funds. perhaps you should talk to someone about the ins and outs of investing your money. mutual funds are worth checking out cuz its more or less growing on interest
2. I'm a novice and just have a few questions. first is what are your thoughts on mix of stocks to bonds ratios, international to domestic stocks and is it to late to start to investing at this point? the market is dancing around the 10k mark
3. i dont understand anyrhing about investing or how to even get started in it at all. do you go to a web site or what do you do? i have no clue.
