Mr Travis I have a question and this may sound rehtorical and self explanatory LOL theoretically speaking do lower priced stocks have a lower OPTION IV % levels than higher priced stocks taking earnings out of the picture? also is there a substantial difference between the two with regards to options VEGA values? 5. @doc higher volit = higher premium bcuz better chance stock price will move fast, therefore option premium will move fast. $yelp, high volit going into earnings, better chance your option will change in value quickly & u can make $ before it expires
6. Sorry for the stupid question. But how come higher volatility increases option price? Is it because there is a greater chance for upside on the option? But higher volatility increases the risk of losing as well as it is unpredictable. I thought increase unpredictable (volatility) would make an asset less demanded??
7. Wow loaded questions :) There is so much to know I can't narrow it down to the "first" or the "most important", but I always advise people to get out of debt first before they try to trade. After that start with option basics and then go from there.
8. I'm learning this now. I don't have much experience other than just buying shares and researching companies' fundamentals and technically as well. what's the FIRST thing i need to know when getting into this ie the most important thing to know starting off?
