  1. What if the internet goes down or something, and you can't babysit the trade, and there's no stop loss, and the market comes crashing down against you?
  2. never use stop loss orders for 2 reasons: 1) the market makers will ALWAYS "run the stops" to stop out people who just bought stock. 2) stop loss orders will cause HUGE losses during overnight gap downs. and most importantly dont let anyone tell you that "small losses dont matter as long as you have a few big wins"..BALONY, small losses add up to huge losses. the answer? enter a trade with no more than 25% of your trading account....then add IF the stock goes lower to decrease your break even point.. NOTE!! this only works for ETF's and not individuel stocks. I only trade/invest in ETF's never single stocks.
