Strong dollar, weak dollar? Who cares!!!

When making policy we should not be concerned with the foreign exchange value of the dollar.

  1. we don't need the rest of the world, we have plenty of energy, water and land for us. Why give it away to polluting china and guarantee the non future of our people. Capitolism is a swarm of locust. When all the field if gone they will move on. Reagan started this with Greenspan.
  2. In a country without the fallen nature of man our system would work. But it only works for a lucky few. (Bernie Sanders hit a nerve.)
  3. Just to play devil's advocate Mike, by neglecting FX rate and committing the country towards full employment, a floor on wages, extensive welfare provisions, and taking a more anti-globalisation economic policy, won't the UK and US just one day end up being like Britain in late 1970s? Even with strong north sea oil production and a trade surplus, the wage-price spiral just crippled the British economy. It got so bad that even high taxation and a huge industrial base couldn't restrain inflation/ prop-up the pound.
  4. He votes for Trump and complains when he finds him the way he expected. Only in Mike Norman's convoluted self-screwing mind thinks the people listening to him actually care about his proposals. You will be stuck with trolls in the long term. No sane person will invest in you my man. Talk about walking contradiction. Sadly you seem as if you don't recognise that about yourself.
  5. Hi!

Dollar is an currency which is used to trade between countries and inside US it is not gold standard as US can "print" as much as needed. But for the rest of the world it is like gold standard as they have to get it before to spend. If countries start to trade not only in dollars then things will change and dollar will become not a "golg" for them but a usual currency. So US became like a central bank for the rest of the world untill rest of the world accepts dollar as the only currency for doing transactions between themselves.
  6. I actually want both and yes strong Dollar is very important Mike.
  7. Aahhhhhaaaa
    Print print n print $$$$
  8. Hey Mike: Tarpley proposed an easy way around the debt ceiling or balanced budget for any President - just call up Yellen and say: The Government, including Delta Force and CIA Black Ops would like to thank you for agreeing to buy the $1 Trillion Bond recently issued by our new Federal Infrastructure Corporation. I'm going on TV now to announce.
  9. Strong Dollar makes it a good time to travel or invest in foreign assets
  10. Listening to this video, and the prior one, I'm thinking about what would happen with a Balanced Budget Amendment. Limiting the creation of dollars would cause the value of the dollar to skyrocket. This would be deflationary, eventually causing another Great Depression. This Depression will be impossible to get out of because the Balanced Budget Amendment prevents the government from creating new dollars through deficit spending which is the only way to lower the value of the dollar creating needed inflation. Have I got that right?
